11 time Grammy Award recipient and legendary jazz pianist/composer Lyle Mays, (who passed away in 2020) has been excluded at the eleventh hour from the “In Memoriam” segment of the 2021 Grammy Awards Ceremony, set to air Sunday, March 14 at 8pm ET.

Lyle’s 11 Grammy wins, 23 nominations, and record for most Grammy nominations in the Jazz Fusion category more than merit his inclusion in this segment of the awards. To exclude this important figure in jazz and beyond would be a disgrace to his legacy and to his loyal and devoted fans, friends, and family.
