Section 41 of the Crime and Misconduct Act 2001 must be changed...that gives primary responsibility to the Police Commissioner to investigate all complaints of misconduct and information about misconduct against his Police Officiers...an independant body like the old CJC should have the responsibility of investigating all complaints against Police...the current system has failed to make the Police accountable for their crimes and misconduct...the Qld Police are getting away with unfairly targeting, harassing, assaulting and charging Social Drinkers with Public Order Charges when they haven't done anything wrong, who have only gone out into the Qld Cities and Towns to have a drink and a good time with their friends or on their own at Nightclubs, Clubs, Pubs and Liquor Licensed Premises...and in light of the CCTV footage that was given to the Media by an honest and brave Police Officier after this poor young father from the Gold Coast was unfairly targeted, arrested, handcuffed, racially taunted and bashed in the carpark of a Gold Coast Police Station after he finished work and went to relax and have a drink...I want this disgusting behaviour by Police to stop and it won't stop until the Crime and Misconduct Laws are changed...and because there are too many Aboriginal deaths in custody and too many Police Officers are getting away with assaulting people in custody who shouldn't even have been taken into custody in the first place...the Police will not be accountable and brought to justice for their misconduct like this until an independant watchdog takes over the role from the Police Commissioner of investigating all complaints about Police...
