The Springdale Parks and Recreation Center in Springdale, Ohio is having what they like to call a "Gold Fish Swim." In this swim, children will be encouraged to catch their very own goldfish with their bare hands. 

If it isn't immediately obvious to you that this is animal abuse, let me break it down for you: The children, with their bacteria-covered hands, will be destroying the fish's slime coats, something that is vital to the animals' survival. In addition, the fish will be squeezed, stomped on, and in pain. Furthermore, the gold fish will be put in highly chlorinated and chemical-filled water that could easily kill them. 

Please, please, please don't allow this to happen! Do whatever you have to do--protest, sign and share this petition, write letters to the City of Springdale. It's cruelty, and it's wrong. Gold fish are lives: tiny, precious lives with personalities and hearts all their own! Please don't let 1,000 of them die in this cruel and vicious manner.
