To PM Imran Khan,

we strongly condemn your decision to reject the Domestic Violence bill which was to protect women and children from abuse and harassment. Hitting women and violating their right to exist in peace is not an Islamic value as the Ulema claim. Islam has condemned the abuse of women multiple times in multiple verses from multiple chapters, then why must we tie our toxic cultural beliefs to Islam and narrate them as Islamic beliefs? We request you to take this issue into consideration once again, and pass the bill so the women in this country can feel protected and important. Every year, 5000 women lose their lives to domestic abuse and even more are left disabled and maimed. This is a violation of human rights and a open invitation to femicide. We hope to hear from you soon and expect the bill to be passed soon. Our rights are not to be debated upon.
