Let’s be Kind to Pigeons like Poppy!
Pigeons are beautiful birds, and gallant lifesavers of war. Just like us, they are only trying to survive.
“Pigeons, gulls and other birds don’t like to be chased. Watch them play, instead”, says Animal Aid.
I have now heard from Animal Aid. I had hoped that they would host my petition on their website, but I am now promoting them instead. What is necessary is that protection of pigeons from abuse is promoted.
Animal Aid campaigns peacefully against all forms of animal abuse and promotes cruelty-free living.
They send speakers to schools to teach children about being kind to all animals - including pigeons. Their speakers use visual aids in the form of knitted pigeons to promote kindness. The worksheet above, which features Poppy the Pigeon, is used during the talks to schools, and pigeons are included on some of their other material. See the link below :

Is Animal Aid the only organisation which defends pigeons, apart from this petition? I find this incredible. Animal Aid is working towards solving this problem of pigeon abuse. If you know of any others, please let me know. There needs to be much more emphasis on the importance of being kind to pigeons and stopping the awful abuse of them. What is needed is a reversal in attitudes for some people, including those that could do something about the problem but who are refusing to take any action against this cruelty. We need an improvement in attitudes in society and far greater respect and compassion for these wonderful birds.

3. MAKE SOME NOISE about pigeon abuse.
Ask the National Trust, the RSPB, RSPCA, PETA, The Green Party, Animal Welfare charities, celebrities, Sir David Attenborough, television and radio stations and media to give pigeons a much more positive image.
Contact the Rt Hon Michael Gove, MP, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. Ask him to intervene to stop cruelty to pigeons.
