Cruelty to pigeons. Who cares?
We ask the government to protect pigeons from hatred and prejudice under the new Animal Welfare Sentience bill, being discussed in Parliament. There are currently over 11,876 people on my petition who want this abuse to stop .

Abuse of pigeons is heartbreaking. Some parents encourage children to abuse pigeons. Government ignores this cruelty. Why?
Please ask your MP to protect pigeons, fully and effectively, as birds and sentient beings, under the Animal Welfare Sentience bill, which had its second reading on 18 January 2022. No MP mentioned pigeons, in spite of many requests, but it was confirmed at the debate that the Animal Welfare Sentience law would include birds.
Pigeons are birds. They need protection under the new law.
Abuse of pigeons spoils parks and public places, sets a precedent that abuse is “acceptable” and creates a culture of cruelty, and a powder keg of animal abuse for the future.
Animal abuse leads to people abuse. Fact.
Teaching children to be kind to pigeons and all animals is vital for the welfare of all animals. Pigeons are beautiful birds.

Let’s give pigeons full protection under the Animal Welfare Sentience bill. This is urgent, before the bill becomes law.
