We all want our parks and public places to be safe and free from the abuse of pigeons. We want to be able to enjoy them, as we once could, before the awful era of pigeon abuse began, yet nobody can stop cruelty to pigeons without risking their own safety. Is this acceptable?
Can we persuade schools to teach children to be kind to pigeons and all other creatures, as part of the National Curriculum? Could your local school help to make this possible?
Will anyone take pigeon abuse seriously?

Ask your MP to give protection specifically to pigeons under the new Animal Welfare Sentience laws and Action Plan for Animal Welfare.
Let’s cut out cruelty to pigeons, and teach children to be kind to them. There is no reason to persecute them. Pigeons and all animals need our kindness and respect. Let’s give them a life worth living.
Carrier pigeons risked their lives for us during both World Wars, as messengers, and saved thousands of human lives, when all other means of communication had failed. Which other bird has achieved this? Some people owe their existence today to a pigeon in wartime who saved the life of one of their ancestors. We owe pigeons so much for their outstanding wartime service and bravery, which helped us win victory and the freedom which we all enjoy today. It is tragic that pigeons are denigrated today and persecuted, their wartime heroism conveniently forgotten and overlooked.
This petition reached 10,000 signatures on 21 September 2021, when it was submitted to the Prime Minister.
It has still received no response.
We need to know how the government intends to stop pigeon abuse and give pigeons full, effective and specific protection under the law.
