Pigeons are all too often persecuted in public places. This needs to change.
Kindness to pigeons must be taught to children and young people.
Pigeon abuse is not fair. Pigeons are loyal, intelligent and friendly. They served our nation during both World Wars, as vital messengers, and their contribution must not be forgotten. They helped us to win victory, and the freedom which we all enjoy today.
Pigeons do not pose a risk to human health, as confirmed by vets and the RSPB.
Persecution of pigeons damages Great Britain’s reputation as a Nation Of Animal Lovers. They should be protected under the Animal Welfare Sentience Bill, currently being discussed in Parliament.
