We, the third party and independents of America, feel it is time to stand up for our equality. For too long, we have been shadowed by the Republicans and Democrats in all aspects. It is a shame that there is a dominance of two parties in American politics considering the visions of the founding fathers themselves. They believed in the idea that all American citizens would have their voice heard and would have an equal chance as their neighbors to run and be elected to office. That we would elect our leaders based on their views for the country, not because of a party affiliation. I ask that you, the average American citizen, sign this petition to the Commission on Presidential Debates that would allow any third party candidate that is on the ballot in 34 (two-thirds of 50) states be included in any presidential debate shown on television. This would allow for the spreading of new ideas to the American people that rely on the debates to be their way of deciding who to vote for for president. And, this would give the third party and independent candidates a chance to prove that a third party vote is not a wasted one.
