President of the United

The Issue

A first time offender Corey Blount is serving a life sentence (without the possibility of parole) in federal prison, for a non-violent drug offense. He has been incarcerated for about 15 years and justice has been served for this crime possibly 7 to 8 years ago. The charge does not fit the crime at all. This charge is quite cruel and harsh; empathy is needed at this time because the judicial system is unfair. Yes, he was guilty of a drug charge and faced the consequences. If this petition is not successful, then dying in prison is the only option left. Murder charges aren’t this punitive and those people took a life away from a family and society. As time elapse his parents are aging, leading to one being deceased while being incarcerated. He could not even say his last goodbyes to his father. All of his kids are adults, growing up right before his eyes. He has served his prison sentence with excellent conduct, doing what’s right to have another shot at life one day. Corey took it upon himself to appeal his own case multiple times and has been denied. Looking to condense his sentence he is now appealing to the President of the United States for a reduced term. This should have him home hopefully and give him a second chance at life! Praying that congress change the laws which unjustly sentence first time non-violent offenders to Life in prison not just for him but for others as well. Help grant Freedom to Corey Blount by signing the petition this could have very well been one of your family members. Thanks in advance and God bless you all!
