Brian Thomas started this petition to The President of the United States of America and

Facebook has decided to ban a range of non-illegal political opinions and the people who express them in the United States (and around the world).

The United States of America is governed according to a Constitution which includes the 1st amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

While this is a restriction on Government, not a private entity like Facebook, it is incumbent on the US Government not to infringe its citizens inalienable rights.

By continuing to conduct any business at all via a publisher such as Facebook, the US Government is endorsing the selective and dangerous censorship Facebook is choosing to impose.

Facebook is currently transitioning itself from an open platform for speech to a publisher which choses which opinions are allowed or disallowed. This is Facebook's right, but this should change the nature of the Government's interaction with it.

As such we petition President Donald J. Trump to decree by executive order or the legislative branch of the US Government by law, all agencies and offices of US Government stop using Facebook. The resources and staff currently used for this task should be re-allocated or savings should be made.
