We take the time of  Rio´s 2016 Paralympics to make, again, the games a changing event in people´s life. Several international committees have been struggling over the past few years to make the inclusion of athletes with Down syndrome as a class/category, with its own rules, within the Paralympic Games, but this request has not yet become a reality. Today the classification mark required to Paralympic athletes puts the athletes with Down syndrome at a disadvantage because they cannot achieve it by their physical limitations. We reiterate through this petition to International Paralympic committee the need to review rules and opening of new classes / categories so as the Paralympic games continue to be the world's largest stimulus event for driving social inclusion, able to make all societies in the world more equitable for all.
