Sri Lanka LockDown

Sri Lanka LockDown
The Issue
I write this petition to awaken people from their slumber and to plead that the country, in light of the COVID-19 concerns, be placed into lockdown for a period of minimum 2 weeks. Despite 28 confirmed cases which only seem to be on the incline, my acquaintances continue to be compelled to attend their place of employment, rendezvous continue to be organized and local eateries continue to beckon patrons.
To my fellow Sri Lankan citizens, all it takes is a day for the country to be thrown into turmoil, as you well know from our escapade last year. Experts who have studied the trajectory of the virus expect the next few weeks to be crucial. ( The GMOA has suggested this following a study of the patterns of the epidemic- the image attached to this petition is evidence of this) Let’s recognize that. This is not just about the elderly or those with feeble respiratory systems. This is about initiative.
The Easter attacks showed us that Sri Lanka is reactive and not proactive. Let’s change that.
Note: It is not the intention of this party to make claims against the government or to propagate false information. I have striven to do my due diligence.
