The local councils want locals to starve the stray dogs in Sri Lanka and on top of that since there is no animal welfare bill the cruel people of Sri Lanka commit such heinous crimes towards animals and get away with no consequence. If anyone has ever visited the country you would know that the stray dogs there are the friendliest dogs out there and they are a part of what  makes Sri Lanka a beautiful place however the officials have not taken any action against cruel acts that locals commit.Please sign the petition to pass an animal welfare bill.There's so much more that goes on in this country and it's utterly disgusting. Please don't encourage this behaviour by traveling to the country until this issue has been addressed. I hate doing this to my own paradise island but this would be the only way to get anyone's attention in this country as they depend solely on the travel industry.
