You may have seen this online or on Time Out, but we got some great news late last week for Pauline and all at the George who were granted the right to appeal at the Court of Appeal! This gives the George one last chance to make its case to the courts and to prove that this development will have an adverse effect on its business. The George’s case is being seen as a test case for music venues, pubs and other established businesses facing similar situations across the country. The Court of Appeal will consider whether planning authorities should allow new development, if it threatens established licensed premises. In particular, the Court will consider whether complaints from residents of any new development will put the operating licences of live music venues at risk. So...HOW YOU CAN HELP NOW! All we're asking is that you take a bit more time out of your day to sign and share our new petition which can be found in the link below. This will help to demonstrate the strength of support for the George (and live music venues more generally).
