The People vs the KBE Government

The People vs the KBE Government
The Issue
Background: Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands, a nuclear testing grounds for the US. In the mid 40s and mid 50s, the People of Bikini were forcibly removed from their home islands so the US can test its Nuclear Weapons. Till this day, Bikinians have not been allowed to go back to their home due to high levels of radiation. As compensation for the Nuclear testing, the US created a trust fund for the People of Bikini, a trust fund that has been in place for over 40 years. After receiving full control over the trust funds, in less than 6 years, we believe the current Administration has expended trusts funds that have been in place since 1982. There is no transparency or accountability, and the recent audit has cause much to be concerned by the People of Bikini.
We, the People of Kili/Bikini/Ejit, are writing in regards to the lack of accountability and transparency with the current KBE Local Government. We demand to know the status of our trust funds via official documents: The Resettlement Trust for the People of Bikini (U.S. Public Law # 97-257 later supplemented by U.S. Public Law # 100-446) and the Bikini Claims Trust Fund (U.S. Public Law #99-239).
We, the people of Bikini Atoll, have not had any payroll payments, nor any other social welfare payments, from the Resettlement Trust Fund for the people of Bikini since early January of this year 2023, which we have reason to believe no longer exists. To date we are also not receiving our quarterly 177 payments from the Bikini Claims Trust Fund, all while there is zero communication between the KBE Local government and the people of K.B.E regarding these matters. Today we fear our local government either has expended this trust fund, or now have the intent to do so. This amounts to a horrendous breach of fiduciary responsibility to our people.
We believe the public funds of Bikinians should be used to serve the public first and foremost, rather than to serve the self-gain of a few select officials working for the local government. Therefore, We are putting forward this petition to stop the KBE Local Government from expending any more public funds for their own personal gains and demand a full accounting and audit be done on these Trust funds both in the RMI and in Washington, D.C. where these funds are sited. We are demanding that the KBE local government be put into receivership as mandated by the Republic of Marshall Islands, Local Government Act of 1980.
Lastly, we ask you the reader, to sign on to this petition, and helping the people of Bikini (scared people, because this regime dictatorship will take away our benefits if we speak up) help us urge the the US Government, Marshall Islands Government, the RMI Ministry of Internal Affairs, Department of Interior, to immediately intervene on behalf of the People of Bikini, Marshallese citizens in pain and suffering in addition to being displaced over 77 years ago.
