Time to Get Back in the Fight

I have not written for a while.  I have been too disgusted and discouraged with the Republican cowards in Congress and the fear-driven silence of the leaders of our large banks and corporations.  But it is time to get back into the struggle.  We citizens are our only hope for maintaining our freedom and control of our government.  Trump and his allies have traded our democracy and democratic ideals, traded the soul of our country, for their own gain and aggrandizement, mocking our inability to stop them.  We are being raped and Trump is laughing.  He demolished the White House for god's sake!   We must redouble our efforts to win back the Congress by a landslide--a margin large enough to thwart Trump's undisguised plan to undermine the election.  We must become more vocal and less timid about confronting and challenging the thinking of our fellow citizens that we suspect are supporters of the Trump agenda for some misguided reason.  Certainly, many of them must be starting to recognize Trump for the unprincipled snake-oil salesman that he is.  And it is not about the price of gasoline!  It is about the soul of our nation!  Trump actually offered to pay each of us $5,000 for our soul!  If this is not a crime, it is certainly an insult that should turn the stomach of any self-respecting citizen.
