Thanks everyone for signing and doing what you can to promote the petition. 

We are starting to get some momentum!

In many ways this seems futile, I know.  But we have to do something to voice our opposition.  It may help to think of this as a Virtual March on Washington!

If we get enough signatures, it may persuade our Republican Congress that the shine has gone off the Trump agenda and they had better take note of the wind change.

Maybe my analogy for the nightmare we are experiencing can get to the Congress and shame them into asserting their authority:  Consider this analogy from my prior post:

You hire a painter to paint your front porch.  It is a nice big front porch that your family and your neighbors enjoy gathering on.  

The next morning you wake to the sound of all sorts of clatter and clamor.  You look out to see the painter and his crew totally demolishing the porch, pulling up the floorboards, breaking up the brickwork, and throwing the debris in your neighbors' yards.

You confront the painter in total alarm and anger, demanding to know what the hell is going on.

The painter calmly responds that he and his crew decided that you did not really need such a big porch.  In fact, they decided you really didn't need a porch at all.  And to hell with your neighbors; they were just taking advantage of your nice big porch.

To this outrage our Republican Congress responds:

Well, it is our house, and it was our decision to have a nice big porch, but you are the painter and probably know what is best for our house.  

Please pass the petition along to your friends and family.  If we get enough signatures, it may help persuade Congress to stand up and oppose Trump and crew.  If anyone has any connections to get us some media coverage, that would be fantastic!
