Thanks everyone for signing and doing what you can to promote the petition.
Our only hope, short-term, is to convince the current congress that the majority of the People are totally opposed to the Trump agenda--and if they want to keep their seats in congress, they need to reclaim their authority under the Constitution. We are starting to see hopeful signs in this direction. This petition may help tip the balance.
This morning, I was trying to come up with an analogy to the horrors we have been subjected to since Trump took office just 76 days ago.
Consider this:
You hire a painter to paint your front porch. It is a nice big front porch that your family and your neighbors enjoy gathering on.
The next morning you wake to the sound of all sorts of clatter and clamor. You look out to see the painter and his crew totally demolishing the porch, pulling up the floorboards, breaking up the brickwork, and throwing the debris in your neighbors' yards.
You confront the painter in total alarm and anger, demanding to know what the hell is going on.
The painter calmly responds that he and his crew decided that you did not really need such a big porch. In fact, they decided you really didn't need a porch at all. And to hell with your neighbors; they were just taking advantage of your nice big porch.
To this outrage our Republican Congress responds:
Well, it is our house, and it was our decision to have a nice big porch, but you are the painter and probably know what is best for our house.
Please pass the petition along to your friends and family. If we get enough signatures, it may help persuade Congress to stand up and oppose Trump and crew.
Thanks again,
John
