I'm a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and a 5 year Disabled Veteran of the US Army.  It should be be noted here that on December 26, 1862 38 Dakota Indians were hung because they were starving.  Another treaty broken by the US Government. 300 Dakota died from starvation, and 38 Dakota men were hung for trying to get food from white warehouses.  I was called Chief, Redskin, Red Stick, and it hurt me significantly.  I was literally fist-fighting all the time for being called these names and many other negative names associated with being a person of color. These negative names are racially hurtful, insensitive and the name calling must stop immediately after decades of insensitivity.  This is one aspect of why American Indian people commit suicide daily.  As a Vietnam Combat Veteran I threw my medals in the Missouri River because I was not accepted by America, I attempted suicide many times due to my Vietnam service.  Please sign my petition and help us.  American Indian people need the help of the American people NOW.  Thank you.
