My mother suffered a fall during a hospital stay for a separate incident. The fall resulted in a major brain trauma that required a life or death operation. Against ALL ODDS and against ALL professional prognosis, my 83 year old mother survived the operation AND began a very slow recovery. This started almost 6 weeks ago. 

The hospital quite rightly followed NHS guidelines of restricting visitors due to COVID-19. We as a family took it seriously and in the best interest of our mum, chose NOT TO VISIT HER to eliminate any possibility of cross-contamination. Choosing daily phone calls to the hospital ward to check on her progress, we were always told that she was the same; antibiotics to treat her chest infection, NGF feed, and fluctuating temperature between 37.6 to 38.0. Nothing different from the last few weeks. 

This afternoon (31.03.20), we received a call from her nurse to tell us that our mum had tested POSITIVE for Covid-19. They could not say how this could have happened. 

We as a family can only assume that our mum could only have caught the virus from a member of their staff. The same hospital staff who are freely able to travel to and from their place of work. 

Whilst the rest of the UK are being told to self-isolate to lessen the impact on our NHS, the very people, the service providers we are all collectively trying to protect, are actually the WALKING DEATHTRAPS amongst the weak and vulnerable citizens. They continuously travel undetected if they themselves are virus free and putting the lives they serve to protect, at risk!

I am imploring the netizens of the UNITED KINGDOM to come together and DEMAND our government to BUILD mass tents to accommodate ALL HOSPITAL STAFF in each hospital to restrict their footprints IMMEDIATELY.
