Due to the increasing population of Richmond Hill, the city has plans of creating new recreational facilities around the area. New Basketball, baseball, and even tennis courts are in these plans but no word regarding a renovation or even a new skatepark in the area. The current skatepark in Richmond Hill has various holes in the equipment and concrete floor. The ramps and obstacles in the skatepark are damaged and deteriorated due to age. With some assistance from skateboarders who go to Ozzys as well as supporters of the idea. we can make a new skatepark in Richmond Hill a reality. Me and some friends plan to create a model of a new skatepark and present it to the city council along with some a petition with signatures from skateboarders who frequent Ozzys or even supporters of the idea. The new skatepark would be in remembrance of Ozzy, as his tragic passing was the reason for the creation of the park in the first place and we skateboarders would love to continue his legacy and have this new park in remembrance of him. This skatepark would provide those with a passion for skateboarding a place to do it safely perform the activity. As well as be a great place for parents to bring their kids and introduce them to the newly added Olympic sport of skateboarding.
