Save Seaforth Beach & Mangroves before they are damaged & spoiled forever.

The Issue

Whether it be for camping, hiking, fishing, crabbing or just a quiet day at beach; many of us have been to Seaforth & thoroughly appreciate the tranquility of the area. However, that tranquillity & all else Seaforth offers will disappear, if we fail to act.

The area has been sold to a developer, who proposes a model of development, which already has proven detrimental to other, formerly, pristine parts of Antigua. This development has already seen large tracks of land being, completely stripped of trees, including some mangroves. Even our precious, lush, fish/crab nursery- Flashes mangrove- has been marked for future destruction.

It must be noted that I am not against development, but I am, certainly, against unsustainable development. With a casual glance at what has already happened, at Seaforth, it is obvious this development is the epitome of unsustainablity. MP Sir Molwyn Joseph, once, stood in parliament & vigorously defended the importance of protecting the Flashes. It was important then & it still is today

I'm calling on all Antiguans to support this petition & other future activity aimed at getting the relevant authority to defend & protect this fragile gem against its imminent destruction.
