The Issue

Technology has the power to shape our mental health, self-worth, and relationships. For kids and teens, especially, the impact can be profound. I've witnessed how the unrestrained use of technology can affect young minds, potentially leading to issues such as anxiety, depression, and a skewed sense of self-worth. This reality fuels my passion to protect vulnerable communities online and inspire families to cultivate safe and mindful digital environments.

The Online Safety Promise aims to create a movement dedicated to inspiring  mindful tech usage in everyone, empowering kids and teens to take control of their screen time, equipping families with the essential knowledge and tools to ensure digital safety, and advocating for safer digital spaces through legislation. In an era where online interactions underpin much of our communication and work, it's critical we establish pathways to use technology intentionally and constructively.

By signing this pledge I promise to:

  1. Think before I click — being careful about the links, apps, and sites I use.
  2. Protect my privacy — never sharing personal information with strangers and respecting the privacy of others.
  3. Respect myself and others online — choosing kindness, honesty, and empathy in every interaction.
  4. Take care of my mental health — setting boundaries around screen time and content, and balancing online and offline life.
  5. Speak up — reporting unsafe behavior, cyberbullying, exploitation, or harassment to trusted adults.
  6. Support accountability — encouraging responsible behavior and advocating for safer digital spaces.

Join with us at The Online Safety Promise – together, we can transform our digital world into a safer, more hopeful space for everyone. Sign the petition today to be a part the change.
