Hello Fellow Non-Nepotistic Bridge Lovers!

As you may know, the governor is involved with another controversy about the bridge.  He wants to add his father's middle initial "M" to the signs, wasting who knows how much money on another vanity project at our expense that is completely unnecessary.

Well, the plot thickens even more.  Now there is a contest to vote on the new design for the NY License Plate.   The governor had the gall to put the Tappan Zee Bridge as one of the options.  We cannot allow that option to win, because if it does, it helps solidify the new name, at the expense of the real name: Tappan Zee.

How ironic that the state is allowing us to vote on which license plate we prefer, but never gave us a chance to vote on which bridge name we prefer.
It's truly maddening.

But this time (assuming the vote isn't rigged, haha), we can do something about it. Save Our Tappan Zee, Inc. is asking you to please go vote for option number 1: The Statue of Liberty!   First, it's far more recognizable.  Second, it's far more New York.  Third, it's the embodiment of the United States.  Fourth, we don't want to let the governor hijack yet another part of New York.

Here's the full link to vote: https://now.ny.gov/page/s/vote-for-the-next-nys-license-plate-design

Why Option 1? We want to make sure we all support the same one, so we can ensure # 1 comes out on top.  In this way, we can ensure that the bridge doesn't get memorialized with its new hijacked name on the new license plates.

Thank you again, and if you want to help us raise money for a billboard and other advertising, keep on donating.  It will be used wisely and carefully.  ALL (100%) of the money you donate will go towards our advertising war chest.  We have about $1,700 so far, and we will need about $10,000.  Once we have enough money to pay for a billboard or some other high profile advertising (even if it takes ten years), we will do that.

Bottom line, our mission is to make sure no one ever calls it the Cuomo Bridge, and to stay the course so one day we can get it changed back.
As one of our supporters Grace just wrote to me (via snail mail!), Cape Canaveral was renamed Cape Kennedy, kept that name for ten years, and then was finally returned its original name.  Why?  The people didn't give up.  So don't give up!  It may take us a decade or more, but we WILL get that bridge name back.

Thanks for your continued support!

P.S. - I'm now a columnist for the Epoch Times!  You can read my first article now, and my second comes out on Monday.  I'm hoping that perhaps in the future, I'll be able to write an opinion piece about the bridge.  The trick is that the article will need to have a national angle to it.  If you guys have any ideas, let me know, and I can pitch my editor.  Perhaps something about how history is being whitewashed for political reasons from coast to coast?
