Apart from the absurd argument that horses will threaten Canberra’s drinking water, one must ask the question that if Canberra’s drinking water (which comes from the MAN MADE DAM the Cotter) is at such risk and the environment is so sensitive, shouldn’t they be more concerned about controlling the increasing population and suburban spread in Canberra. On average Canberra has been adding over 1100 houses and over 4000 apartments each year. Yet if one Brumby crosses the border it’s dead. The hypocrisy of the environmentalists and politicians is astounding. These very same people advocate for increasing our population via immigration which already adds over 200,000 to our population each year and apparently the poor old brumby has to pay with its life due to the academic elites in our communities that assume they know better then you or I.
