In the wake of Covid 19 students have suffered significant financial loss in the job market with students being laid off what little means to earn they have, and in the academic world with classes being "self taught" with the lack of instruction at best. In the month of March, NAIT announced that it would be increasing the tuition of the fall 2020 semester by 7%, this is a drastic increase for an already hard hit student body who's academic future is uncertain at best in this scenario. The student body proposes the adjustment of tuition increase to reflect the lack of face to face teaching and recreational fees, as well as an adjustment to the student union fees that would be charged within the regular semester as students themselves as a whole are facing economic hardship.

Students will not require a UPass for the majority of fall term and at best it is TBD for winter term 2021, recreation facilities will be recommended to be closed and many classes that do not require labs will never see the inside of campus in the upcoming term, there is room to adjust and negotiate a better tuition rate for the lack of these services and the student body requests NAIT's consideration on this matter.
