Just recently one of my teachers asked my class as a whole how many people think the educational app Mastery Connect is helpful. Nobody raised their hand. Then my teacher asked us why don't we like Mastery Connect. People started blurting out all sorts of answers like "It's confusing!" or "I don't understand the questions its asking!" or "The questions its asking us, we didn't even learn them yet!". Multiple of my teachers has asked that question and that is the same exact response for everyone. In my opinion, these are all true. Mastery Connect is extremely confusing, and it is giving us questions that we haven't learned or that have nothing to do what we are learning. Plus the scoring system is non accurate. One question wrong and our grade drops down a whole 6-10 points?! Unacceptable! Lately our teachers have been telling us that Mastery Connect has been glitching and acting up by showing weird symbols and letters and/ or not showing the green check mark that informs us that the question has been answered. In my English class when we were taking benchmarks, on our screens, it said that we got an awful score, but on my teachers screen it said we did excellent! Confusing and suspicious, right? All these years without this Mastery Connect have been great years indeed. Now that the school board is making, more like forcing, teachers to make us take Mastery Connects is just making students dread coming to school ten times worse. If you believe what i believe and think we should NOT use Mastery Connect anymore, sign this petition right now to force change!
