The constant fracas among thugs factions is becoming daily occurrence in Ikire and the police often felt unconcerned. The disruption to the community life and fear by the citizens has greatly affected the economy of the people. The police under the leadership of DSP Oke often look on helplessly and had never arrested anyone in connection with the mayhem.

It is our belief that the Divisional Police Officer is being influenced by politicians who have vested interest in the activities of the thugs. We think a change of the police hierarchy may bring effective policing to the community.
