We support Phoenix Rising for CEO of the NDIS because a ♿️ should be!
Why this petition matters

The fat cats in their expensive suits with their fancy educations and old boys clubs have not fixed the NDIS for the people it was designed to serve. Phoenix has been a passionate disability advocate for 15 years, specialising in community accessibility which is the crux of why the NDIS exists to allow people with a disability to live as “normal” life as possible. It is time for real change. it is time for a person with real lived experience to be in charge. Phoenix is passionate, driven and the woman for the job - but is the government ready for Phoenix?
Phoenix doesn’t want the job for the glory or the money or the prestige. In fact, it will probably be stressful, and difficult, and one of the hardest things she’s ever tried to do, but Phoenix is vehemently passionate about community accessibility, and the right to self determination for ALL Australians, and she wants to see real change at the NDIS, wants to see changes that make the NDIS recognise the practical real world challenges of being a person with a disability.
The fat cats in their expensive suits, with their fancy educations are so out of touch with what it means to be disabled. About time someone with real lived experience and a passion for community accessibility in all its forms, for all people with a disability, was put in charge.
Martin Hoffman resigned, there will be an open recruiting process. Phoenix will be submitting her resume. They have the old boys club to help bolster their resumes- She need the support of her community. She has served you for 15 years in a volunteer capacity and she wants to continue this work. So I ask you, sign and share. Get her in a position of real power where She can make muppets eat cake and give us the NDIS we deserve.
Please share far and wide if you think that the NDIS needs a person with a disability, who is a fierce advocate for the disability community, and has a solid grasp on legislation, should be in charge now. They need this in a CEO for the big picture thinking. Every single CEO in existence literally hires experts in the relevant departments for the areas they are not an expert in, so the fact Phoenix hasn’t ran a multi billion dollar government entity before isn’t the issue here because an "expert" is just "someone who knows a huge amount about a subject and "ignoring the experts" just means listening to people who don't know what they're talking about and Phoenix is wise enough to know what she is and is not an expert in.
I’m Phoenix Rising, the future of a fairer and more equitable NDIS for ALL Australians.
