A YEAR OF BLACK CAP CAMPAIGNING - THE UNSTOPPABLE MOMENTUM CONTINUES Please share widely :-) As 2016 draws to a close, we thought it would be nice to go through a few of the most memorable images captured over 12 months of continuous campaigning. They are on our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareblackcap/permalink/1010460339090644/ From cold to hot to cold, vigilers were there. Colourful, musical, poetical, and fabulous, organised and persistent. We made our presence known on the streets, at Gay Pride, on the Internet, and on TV. We are featuring in a BBC Documentary in 2017, and got more than a mention in 'The Battle of Soho'. Have we had a result? Oh yes, absolutely. This pub continues to gracefully hold it's stake at 171 Camden High Street, whilst the other five pubs involved in the original purchase have been gentrified, modified, vandalised, or have just won planning permission to suit the burning needs of a large network of offshore greedy property developers determined to deprive communities, and the LGBT+ Community, of their cultural homes for cash. But, there are two important things to note this Christmastime: i) Look at the absolute love, fun and laughter and the huge support conveyed in all of the pictures (and one or two sad memories as well) ii) The developers are held in absolute check over this - there is no way they can continue to drive their case against 11,000 objections, and a continuous campaign that has actually grown in defiance, dance, and performance over the last 12 months. You are brilliant - your support has been unwavering, as has Camden's residents and visitors and Camden Council. So please share this widely, and we would like to ask everyone else if they might look out their favourite photos of a year's worth of campaigning and put them up on Facebook over the Christmas break.
