Problem
To whom it may concern, at the address 350 Walnut Bottom Rd. there is one of the entrances to Thornwald Park. Myself and my entire Carlisle cross country team run there at least two to three times a week to get to the park, we have to cross the treacherous Walnut Bottom road. Even with my coaches best efforts to remind us to take caution when crossing the road it still is a threat to myself, my teammates. and many other people of the community that have to attempt to cross this road. I am a senior, and I will no longer be able to watch out for my teammates when crossing this street, and I would like to be able to be at peace knowing that their lives are no longer endangered. I've had to grab and pull several teammates back to safety because of a car that came flying around a corner out of no where. I couldn't live with myself if one of them got hurt or even worse. So please I ask you to take consideration in signing this petition to help make Walnut Bottom Road a safer road and protect the people of the community and my teammates that cross it!

Solution
This problem can be solved if we add a cross walk warning sign at the entrance of Thornwald park to the other side of the road. This will cause the cars that are driving on Walnut Bottom Road to Slowdown and be aware of pedestrians.

Personal story
The reason I'm starting this petition is because I'm very familiar with the dangers of crossing Walnut Bottom Road. I am on the Carlisle Cross Country team and my team and I run to Thornwald park at least two to three times a week. I have grabbed multiple of my teammates to stop them from running into the road because of how fast cars come around the corners. I'm a senior so I will no longer be around on the team, and although we have a great coaching staff, I would hate to see a runner or pedestrian get into an accident.
