On April 24th, 2019, the NCAA denied two athletic eligibility waivers to two student-athletes who wanted to transfer. These athletes are Luke Ford and Brock Hoffman. Luke Ford wants to be closer to his family, mainly his grandfather who is struggling with his health. He wants his grandfather to be able to see him play the sport he made his passion. Brock Hoffman would like to be closer to his mother. She just had a brain tumor removed and he obviously would like to be there for her. The NCAA denied both of these waivers but allowed athletes such as Tate Martell and Justin Fields to transfer to other schools because they couldn’t win a starting job.
