Tighten restrictions on violence, re-assess restrictions on physical love.

The Issue

"We live in a world where we have to hide to make love, while violence is practiced in broad daylight." ~John Lennon

According to the MPAA, any kind of sexual content, even the discussion of sexual actions, deserves a higher rating than gratuitous violence. Even G-rated films are allowed to slip into theaters with multiple scenes of violence. Since the majority of our media comes to us in a feedback loop (the media sells us an image, we imitate the image, the media observes our behavior for clues about what's "cool," sees us imitating their image, and sells it right back to us) having large amounts of violence in film perpetuates the idea that violence is okay, while heavily censoring sexual content perpetuates the idea that love is something that should be hidden.
Believing that crime-related tragedies in the United States would lessen if our culture were not so heavily saturated with violence, we invite you to help diminish the violence in our media by asking the MPAA to tighten their restrictions on violence in films and promote love by re-assessing their restrictions on displays of physical affection, and allowing expressions of love in all their forms.

NOTE: The trailer for "This Film is Not Yet Rated" is not mine, it does not belong to me. No copyright infringement is intended. I only wanted to post it as an example of what we're up against. (P.S., see the movie, it will open your eyes far better than I could by talking for days.)
