There is an embargo on the allocation of homecare hours in Ireland. This is having a detrimental effect on our OAPs and on our sick people. It is contributing to the bed blocking of hospital beds and forcing people into Nursing Homes who want to be at home. People deserve to make the choice on their healthcare at the end of their lifes. If with a bit of support they get to stay at home in their own communities for longer, our State has an obligation to provide that. Irish people are frightened about what the future holds for them, what the healthcare system will provide for them, and whether they can die at home if they so wish. Qualified experienced carer professionals are leaving the career as there is no future in it for them. Please help us convince our Government to remove the embargo and allocate proper qualifed homecare on a fair basis to those who need it most
