I am an 11 year old middle schooler in NJ who just learnt that vaqiuitas are going extinct and I want to do everything in my power to save them.

Vaquitas are the most endangered spices in the world. There are just 10 vaquitas in the world. When I got to know about this I was shocked that humans are the one and only cause of this. The reason they are going extinct is because of illegal fishing at the Gulf of Mexico. I hope to get as many signatures as possible to influence the Mexican government to stop all the illegal fishing. Also ever since I have heard of this I have decided to tell my family to boycott shrimp from the The Gulf of Mexico as that is how these fishermen get their money to fish for more sea animals. Now let me elaborate more on how you can help.

The first thing you can do to help is sign this petition and all other petitions that are working towards the same cause. This shows the people in authority that they have the power to make a change and save these animals but they are just not doing it.

Another thing you can do is boycott seafood from the The Gulf of Mexico. We know for a fact that those illegal fishers are exporting us shrimp but they may be exporting other types of seafood also.

Finally the last thing I think we all can do is really easy. We all need to raise awareness about this cause and make it an important matter. We want this to be one of the most talked about topics throughout the world. The more talked about it is the more attention it will get. And hopefully by the time the Mexican government realizes they can make a change we won't be too late.
