Members & Participants of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod:
It's been less than a week and this petition has already received over 2,600 SIGNATURES. Thanks to your bold voices, we're sending a clear message of solidarity and hope to ANYONE who has felt less-than due to the color of their skin:
We see you, we love you, we’re ready to get to work.
Many of you have reached out about how you can help. Stay tuned for updates, but here's what we need RIGHT NOW:
- SHARE & SUBSCRIBE. Subscribe to LUTHERANS FOR RACIAL JUSTICE email updates. Spread the word. Engage conversations with your family and friends in the church community. And let's be clear: LRJ is not a bitter movement of blame, but a convicted coalition of the willing. The signers of this petition understand that we, as members of the LCMS, own the responsibility to pursue DIVERSE racial justice reform -- black, brown, indigenous -- for every nation, tribe, people, and language (Revelation 7:9).
- SUPPORT OUR CURRENT SPOTLIGHT PROJECT. As LRJ's first Spotlight Project, we want to show support for this worthy effort to jumpstart The Institute of Black Lutheran Studies and Center for Social Justice. The Black Clergy Caucus of the LCMS will be releasing more details about The Institute in the coming weeks. If everyone chips in JUST $10, we’ll have raised $25k! Let's get this effort funded, so that we can continue to spotlight innovative, racially diverse initiatives. Please prayerfully consider making Spotlight Projects a portion of your monthly tithe.
- WANT TO SHINE A LIGHT? CONTACT LRJ. Send us your questions, stories, insights -- anything that would be helpful for us to consider about your vocational corner. We need your voice in this movement. We'll be posting resources to our site in the coming weeks.
Please subscribe to stay connected for updates and resources. Together, by God's grace, we can lead the Church and nation in taking action for racial equality, justice, and reconciliation.
