Stop Garbage burning at Dhapa dumping ground Kolkata
The Issue
Stop the burning of Garbage at Dhapa dumping ground . We the residents of this area around Dhapa,Tangra Beliaghata and EM Byepass are suffering from serious health health concerns like Lung diseases, bronchitis, COPD and even risk lung cancer.
The toxic fumes are loaded with carcinogenic and experts and doctors have repeatedly said that it is resulting in people living around the area having shorter life spans.
The NGT too has banned the burning of garbage at open landfill sites across the country in 2000 .
It is our desperate plea to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, The Mayor of Kolkata and the KMC to stop it immediately.
