• In 2019, 100 million traffic stops by police officers were researched
• 75 million of the people pulled over were black or Latino
• Black people are 3 times as likely to be killed by officers than their white counterparts
• From 2013 - 2019 6,000 black people were killed by the police
• 99% of those officers were NOT charged with a crime. Why?
• Police are not required to submit the information to the federal government, so the coroner can not accurately classify these deaths. 

We need a change in the system. Officers wearing body cams will protect the civilians and police alike. Recent numbers form Milwaukee have concluded that each body camera cost $1000 to purchase. There is not a for sure number regarding the cost of storage for the body camera video. Cost was reported to be high, but luckily the videos can be used in training courses to teach officers how to respond in situations, including ones where the person of interest has a disability. This will in turn save the department money in the long run.
