Cities around the world are embracing ridesharing as a solution to reduce impaired driving, traffic, and carbon emissions. People in our communities benefit from having a reliable, affordable way to get around safely, while driving provides a new, flexible earning opportunity.

Manitoba is a great province and Winnipeg deserves more transportation options. Cities across Canada are embracing innovation and adopting smart regulations for ridesharing. Some of these cities include Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton and Niagara Region, to name just a few.

The Manitoba provincial government has introduced Bill 30, The Local Vehicles Act, which will allow Winnipeg City Hall to pass a bylaw to regulate ground transportation, which could include the introduction of ridesharing to Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman is already on record supporting ridesharing in Winnipeg. According to Mayor Bowman, "I want to strongly encourage all provincial legislators to pass this legislation.”
