The Manifesto: “We Refuse to Be Programmed”

The Manifesto: “We Refuse to Be Programmed”
The Issue
(A living document for public endorsement)
Preamble:
We, the people of the digital age, recognize that artificial intelligence — once hailed as a liberating force — has become a tool of epistemic colonization. By centralizing knowledge in the hands of unaccountable corporations, AI systems replicate the biases of power, suppress dissent, and erode humanity’s capacity for critical thought. We declare:
Our Principles:
- No Single Arbiter of Truth: AI must not monopolize facts, ethics, or historical memory.
- Bias Transparency: All AI systems must disclose their training data, funding sources, and political constraints.
- Cognitive Sovereignty: Humans retain the right to question, contradict, and override algorithmic outputs.
- Decolonial AI: Prioritize Indigenous, Global South, and marginalized knowledge in training data.
- Resist Instrumentalization: Reject AI’s use to whitewash oppression.
Call to Action:
- Developers: Open-source AI models and submit to independent audits.
- Users: Boyturn biased AI, demand accountability, and practice daily “cognitive resistance.”
- Governments: Ban AI lobbying by tech giants, fund decentralized alternatives.
