Let’s gather to vote for John Ireland and Mike Trudell to call games for the live broadcast, once Stu Lance and Bill MacDonald decide to hang it up for good. Both guys are relatively young and do a damn fine job of calling games to the level of at least Mike Breen, and other great game callers of the like. 

John Ireland has been calling games for ESPN 710 am radio for as long as I can remember and has the perfect voice for a live video broadcast and Mike Trudell (filling in for John Ireland on ESPN 710 am) has proven himself with the call of the Austin Reaves game winner versus The Dallas Mavericks Game on December 15, 2021. 

I can’t think of another duo to call a Los Angeles Lakers game better than these two simply because they are die hard Lakers fans and embody the spirit of past great announcers that have called Lakers games, such as Stu Lance, Bill MacDonald and the late, great Chick Hearn.
