The problem with "No Knock Entry Warrants" are the chaos and havoc caused by authorities breaking down your door without having to announce themselves. This type of warrant not only endangers the individual in whom the warrant is for but also the individuals whom occupy that home as well as the authorities themselves whom can be mistaken for intruders which in turn can cause a violent dispute between individual and law enforcement. I believe that if we were to get rid of the "No Knock Entry Warrant" it could allow for law enforcement officials as well as the individual in whom the warrant is for to both leave without dispute or injury.

I was 34 years old when incarcerated for a conspiracy to distribute 5 or more kilos of cocaine, on June 30 2005. Authorities decided to knock my front door off its hinges in the early morning hours causing my burglary alarm to go off, my three children, one niece and spouse at the time to scream franticly waking me out of my sleep “disorientated” and “perplexed” to react to the havoc caused by authorities, “No Knock Entry Warrant”, thinking the worst a “Home-invasion”, I let off two warning shots, no one was hit, no one was injured not knowing the intruders were actually the “Police”, after everything calmed down I was arrested and charged with serious offenses for protecting my loved ones from a threat created by authorities the “No Knock Entry Warrant”. I was sentenced to an extra 10 years in federal prison for a crime that would not have occurred if not for the “No Knock Entry Warrant”.

This change will impact authorities, homeowners, tenants, children, and tax payers by avoiding reactions, that can hurt or kill anyone in the process of executing a warrant such as the “No Knock Entry Warrant” It avoids the individual and their loved ones disoriented thinking their worst fear is occurring which is a “home invasion” while also helping the individual targeted by the warrant from reacting out of fear for themselves and loved ones especially if children live in the home.

 Taxpayers will save money by avoiding these warrants, that entrap home owners and/or tenants to commit “offenses” they would have otherwise not committed if not for the circumstances presented to them by the authorities executing this style of warrant. It costs tax payers thousands of dollars a year if not more to house individuals who were “entrapped” into committing an offense when instead this money could be used in education, maintain/upgrade the community and to help feed the hungry.

So please join me in this petition to avoid future “No Knock Entry Warrant” from being signed by judges and being executed by authorities to avoid injuries and even death in extreme cases so it would better serve the community, taxpayers, individuals targeted for these warrants as well as authorities if we find a different manner in which to execute arrest warrants.
