At The King’s Academy girl's dress length was changed from three inches above the knee to now the top of the knee.

With the previous rule of 3 inches above the knee sometimes I would look for weeks in several cities to find age and body appropriate clothes. Then when formal or semi formal events come along for school there's another dress code that has to be followed and it makes the search even tougher.

With the new "to the knee" hemline for girls dresses, whether they be everyday or semi formal I see several things happening.

1. Parents can't find dresses that both they and their child like that go to the knee. Then we spend more money having dresses made or altered to fit the dress code.

2. Dresses that go to the knee tend to fit tighter and therefore are more inappropriate. 

3. Girls will end up not going to King’s semi formal event (Belles and Bowties) because they would rather not go than look "frumpy" in some dress Mom had altered for the event.
