Muneeba Hasan started this petition to The Justice Department and

America has a sad history of separating color families at the border. The separation of children from their parents resolve from a "zero-tolerance policy" that the Trump administration has implemented to stop the flow of migrants from Mexico and Latin America. Children should not be separated from their families because of their migration status. No one leaves their homes to seek danger but to find comfort and that is exactly the mindset the immigrants had when they were traveling to the U.S. Those who were left with no option but to flee their homes have the right to be protected, have access to essential services, and be with their families.

The Zero-Tolerance Policy is a policy that states that it "prohibits both attempted illegal entry and illegal entry into the United States by an alien." This basically states that those migrants that cross the boarder illegally, even those seeking asylum in the U.S is subject to criminal prosecution. This policy was announced by the U.S attorney general, Jeff Sessions. This policy has separated almost 2,000 children from their families over a six week period according to the Department of Homeland Security. After separating the families, many of the children are seen to be in cages. CAGES! This is unacceptable.

The Declaration of Independence states "all men are created equal, and that they are endowed with certain alienable rights." All men should be treated equally no matter what skin color they are. The separation of children from their parents should be illegal and I need your help to stop this. Please sign this petition to make a change to the U.S governmental policy. It is time that we bring justice to the oppressed in this situation!
