Stop the Inhumane Slaughter of Dolphins in Taiji, Japan

Stop the Inhumane Slaughter of Dolphins in Taiji, Japan
The Issue
Every year, thousands of cetaceans including dolphins, porpoises, and small whales are brutally murdered in a small cove in Taiji, Japan. The Japanese Government is covering up this massacre because of the money benefit and tradition. Most Japanese people don't even know this is occurring because its very well hidden behind tarps and fences.
The hunt begins in September and ends in March. The fishermen leave early in the morning and use a technique called "drive fishery". They use large metal poles and bang them against their boats. This interrupts the dolphins' sonar and confuses them - causing them to swim towards land. Once they are trapped in the cove with nets, the fishermen proceed to inhumanely slaughter the dolphins with knives, spears, hooks, and clubs. They will even drag the bodies off the sides of boats while their still alive. The cove turns bright red and fills with their screams.
Most of the Japanese population has no idea that this is even occurring. The fishermen use various forms of tarps and fences to try and cover their work. What the Japanese people don't realize, is that dolphin meat contains high levels of mercury, a poisonous chemical. The fishermen sell most of this 'massacre meat' to school for children's lunches.
