Cut excessive spending on Independence Celebrations

We need beds in hospitals.  We need police vehicles.  We need fire trucks.  We need life saving equipment for premature babies.  We need to adjust our priorities in the interest of saving lives.

Too many fires are unattended due to the lack of available equipment.  Too many of our citizens have to stay in wheel chairs, regular chairs, and on benches, after being admitted to hospital!  Too many calls to the police must go unattended since enough vehicles are not available for the work of the police.

Let us celebrate Independence by showing more respect for our poor and destitute sisters and brothers.
