17m JMD towards Healthcare instead.

The Issue

The Jamaican Government is looking into spending more than 17 million Jamaican dollars on a sign. The sign is a simple “Montego Bay” and their reasoning is that it will help to attract tourists. The same can be done with a lower budget sign. Meanwhile, the country’s healthcare sector is under duress with the outbreak of Dengue and an Influenza virus. Many of the country’s public hospitals are over crowded, lack equipment and even nurses and doctors! The Victoria Jubilee Hospital is a five story hospital in Kingston, where none of its elevators are working; patients of all ailments have to climb stairs! You are petitioning for the 17 million dollar budget to be transferred into the healthcare sector. People are dying!
