The installation of anti panhandling signage throughout high volume panhandling zones

Panhandling in Nanaimo has been a problem, which is escalating to dangerous levels. Panhandlers are very territorial and will become violent if told to leave or stop panhandling.
Nanaimos mayor Leonard Krog and council have not even approached this idea in any of the meetings.
A simple sign that indicates panhandlers to move along and not panhandle in certain locations would help.
Signage would also alert the public not to give into the pressure to give to aggressive panhandlers
Of course Mayor Krog and council would have to enforce a no panhandling zone and bylaw. That remains to be seen at this time, until this course of action proves that signage and bylaw is necessary to stop aggressive panhandling and the crime it may cause in a certain zone.
Therefore a mandatory action supported by nanaimo neighborhoods and business communities must take part in stepping up to put a stop to the panhandling crisis.
