According to ADA Cosmetics "Over 115 million animals are used for lab research every year. Out of those 115 million, cosmetic testing alone claims the lives of approximately 500,000 lab animals who are subjected to unnecessary suffering in the name of science". With those numbers being as high as they are a change needs to be done. The benefit of these products is outweighed by the pain and suffering these animals endure. The cruel tests being done on these animals is inaccurate majority of the time leaving these animals to suffer for no ethical reason. 

In an article written by Sentient Policy  it says "Not only has scientific advancement provided us with alternative, more ethical methods of safety testing cosmetics, but also with options that are more accurate, efficient and cost-effective". With all of the technological advances we have access to today we should allow for these animals to live a happy and healthy life. We as the customers need to look at the labels when we purchase these items to make sure we are buying cruelty free products. We need to be the voice for the animals and push for a change.
